Midline '85 is an interactive thriller about the challenging work of emergency services in a quiet American town. You are the Operator—a person who must listen and speak, correctly gather information, and catch every detail to save lives. Follow official instructions or improvise. On July 14, 1985, you must prevent the Calamity… Or ████ it.
Panic, horror, human cruelty, and stupidity will accompany you through five intense work shifts. Accept the consequences of your decisions and answer yourself: what are you willing to sacrifice for the greater good?
FIVE DAYS TO CALAMITY
Your work terminal E.D.A.T. is a special device combining a very wide range of functions. With it, you search for routes and paths, take calls, inexorably approaching the fateful date 07.14.85.
Familiarize yourself with the official manual, explore the archives, but be careful when plunging into the computerized abyss. The more you dig into the past, the better you understand the present. The main thing is not to attract the attention of those who do not benefit from your investigation.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW?
The terminal also makes accurate predictions. You will know the future fates of those who decided to ask you for help: death or injury, salvation or disappearance, happiness or grief.
Something connects these people. Something that stretches like a black shadow over Midline.
CHOOSE A SIDE
The Mentor, your official supervisor, is convinced that only dedication and saving everyone guarantees a positive outcome. Another mentor, a mysterious intruder in the E.D.A.T. systems, does not share such optimism and suggests making sacrifices.
Sometimes the advice of your mentors coincides, sometimes it is strictly opposite. Who to listen to (and whether to listen at all) is up to you. Who is right—time will tell.
THE PRICE OF A MISTAKE — █████
After you take a call, time works against you. You have no right to pause █████, nor to change █████. Your logic, memory, and empathy are the only allies in this difficult work. Assemble addresses from fragments, catch scraps of phrases from the growing hum, make choices.
