Take on a vital role in the ecosystem in this action-packed bullet hell. Control a charming sea otter and protect the kelp forest from an endless onslaught of devious sea critters. Skillfully dodge attacks, grab your prey, and eat them all at the surface for a huge satisfying snack.

Score-Attacking Arcade Fun
Kelp Keeper is a score-based arcade game with multiple levels that can be unlocked after achieving high enough scores on previous levels. Earn more points by eating multiple enemies at the same time!

Sea Food Combo Gameplay
The core gameplay revolves around dodging attacks and hazards while grabbing up enemies in the water, and then bringing them up the surface to eat. This gets a bit more interesting by grab meter mechanic: once the player grabs an enemy, a meter appears above their head indicating how long until they will drop what they are holding. If they do not reach the surface before it expires, they will drop everything. BUT: every time the player grabs another enemy, the meter gets completely reset. This allows the chain together huge combos while staying underwater as long as they are constantly snatching up new prey! Best of all, the bigger the combo, the more points they will score!

Eat Big Combos, Get Big Rewards
Points aren't the only reason to eat big combos. Players will get in-game buffs and abilities for scoring big:
4x Combo: Regen 1HP!
8x Combo: Temporary Speed Boost!
12x Combo: +1 Clambreaker Stock (use whenever you want to crack open a clam on your stomach and make a huge shockwave that clears bullets and stuns nearby enemies)!
16x and above Combo: the rewards start to loop! Never stop eating!

Multiple Game Modes, Multiple Levels:
The game will feature 3 main modes of play across multiple levels:
Challenge mode: Face off against hand-crafted sets of enemy waves uniquely designed for each level. Can you get the high score on each level?
Endless mode: Survive as long you can against endless procedurally-generated waves of enemies that get increasingly harder each wave. How many waves can you beat?
Time Attack mode: Similar to endless mode but with extra time pressure: The clock is always ticking down and once it hits zero, your run is over. But you can add on extra time by scoring big combos and picking up bonus time drops in between waves. How long can you last?
