The Last Catalyst is a deep real-time deckbuilder.
Select your spells carefully to create powerful synergies, dodge the enemies and blast them with your magic, as your spells are automatically cast in real time. Defeat huge groups of foes in one long battle along your ascension to the top. Many artifacts and skills will support you on this journey, until you overpower the final boss waiting for you at the end of the path.

A real-time deckbuilder
You start the game with 3 casting slots. When a slot is empty, it automatically draws a spell from your library. Each spell has its own preparation duration, that the spell must spend in a slot before it's cast for you. Meanwhile, focus on your movements and your positionning in order to deliver your most powerful attacks on the right targets.

No spell on its own will carry you through the game. Building your deck, as spells are offered to you through your run, is the most important task you'll have if you want to be able to react to the various threats awaiting for you on your path. It's a tight balancing act that can lead, if successful, to game breaking builds!
During your journey, you'll find lots of points of interest, but with a mysterious red smoke slowly rising from the South, you'll have to chose which ones to visit. Be fast enough, and you might manage to visit a few more! But don't be too greedy, because a miniboss battle at the wrong time can end your run a lot faster than expected...

To test your strenght, huge intermediate bosses will block your way. They're quite a challenge, but their rewards will take your deck to a new level of power!

Gems, artifacts & skills
You'll stumble upon 7 types of gems along your way, that you can set on your spells to upgrade them! Each gem brings different improvements, but your spells can only accommodate a few of them, so chose carefully which gem should go where.

Some ancient magic still floats on this land, and you'll also find artifacts during your ascension. They usually come by 2 or 3, but you can only keep one of them, so there again, chose wisely; some artifacts can make or break your success, especially the epic ones dropped by the bosses!

Finally, as you defeat your opponents, they release experience. Level up, and upgrade your skills to help you in your fight.

Many ways to the victory
At the start of every run, chose among several incarnations, each with their own completely different set of spells.
Each set of spells can lead to lots of different strategies, just remember to select cleverly based on what's offered to you!
As you win runs, you'll unlock new difficulties to ramp up the challenge.
