sorry is a top-down horror game about a cellar, a heartbeat, and an apology that comes nineteen years late.

Every night you go back down into grandpa's cellar, and it's never the same twice. His clocks have all stopped. The stairs stay barred until the clocks on the floor run again, and you wind them in time with your own heart.

That's the problem. Down here your heartbeat is a sound. The faster it goes, the further it carries. And something is listening.

Three floors down, and a way back up.

Who else is down there
daddy longlegs - it can't see what isn't in front of it. it hears more than that.

the rooster - it doesn't hurt anyone. it just tells.

the guard - it follows the sound of you. it is in no hurry, unless you are.

Wakes. When it catches you, you die and wake again on the same floor, and what you were carrying stays where you fell. Each night only gets so many, and so does the whole run. Run out tonight and the night is lost. Run out for good and the run is over.

One more night
A run is a string of nights, each in a new cellar. Every one is a chance to get one floor further, carry one more scrap out, spend one less wake. Daddy longlegs remembers how you played last night.

The letter
Someone wrote to you. It's torn into nine scraps and lost in the cellar, and it only counts once you carry it out. Nobody explains what it says.
