To save the creatures of the lower realm, the Jade Emperor decided to take action. He appointed twelve immortals with boundless magical powers, granting them the title of "Year Stars," and dispatched them to the mortal world with the mission to completely annihilate the beast king "Xi" and its followers. However, the beast king's strength was beyond imagination, and even with the combined efforts of the twelve Year Stars, they failed to subdue it, allowing it to seize a moment of weakness and escape.
Upon learning of this, the Jade Emperor was deeply concerned. To ensure peace and tranquility in the mortal world, he instructed the twelve Year Stars to take turns guarding it, preventing the beast king from returning. But during the transition period each year when the guardians changed, defenses were at their weakest, and the beast king would always take advantage of this opportunity to appear. To address this, the Jade Emperor dispatched another powerful immortal to the mortal world to teach humans a formidable and terrifying power. From then on, humans finally had the ability to protect themselves, and the beast king was completely sealed in battle, while its followers went into hiding, awaiting the chance to emerge again.



"Chuyue" is a horizontally scrolled 2D shooting game developed by Huimeng Shanhai Studio, based on the legend of the "Twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals".

The bosses, modeled after the Twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals, each possess unique forms, diverse abilities, and distinct presentations, bringing more intriguing puzzles and challenges.

During the game progression, the protagonist can absorb the unique abilities of the bosses and utilize them through transformation.

（1）Zhizha

As one of the elements in Chinese traditional culture, paper figures are often associated with mysterious and supernatural elements, with strong Oriental characteristics and local colors. With this choice, we hope to create a unique Chinese atmosphere for the game. Arouse more players' interest and resonance in Chinese traditional culture.

Legend has it that Fuxi created the eight trigraphs and sixty Jiazi, twelve animals representing different time cycles, which became the basis of the twelve zodiac animals and have a deep background in Chinese culture, their unique symbolic meaning is closely linked to folk beliefs.
Based on the legend of the Chinese zodiac, the Book of Mountains and Seas, Journey to the West and other classic works are integrated to carefully design different levels and challenges.
