Welcome to the vibrant realm of Angkor! Embark on an extraordinary journey, shaping your village from humble origins into a thriving settlement while contending with the whims of the powerful Gods who oversee your island sanctuary. Will you earn their favour, or crumble in the face of their divine wrath?
Strategically design and construct your village, for the layout you choose holds the key to unlocking abundant resources and ensuring the well-being of your people. Make sure your villagers are happy and fed, manage your tax rates, prioritise jobs, and contend with threats such as fire and plague. With over 30 different buildings to unlock and construct, your village will be an ever-evolving masterpiece.
Please the Gods that oversee your island home by designating sacred spaces as Temples. Dedicate each Temple to a specific deity, and adorn them with decorations, monuments, and special structures. Each God will command a growing commitment of faith from your village, and it is up to you to ensure that your Temples meet these demands, or else you will suffer the consequences…
The Gods can be your allies, offering miraculous assistance to fuel your endeavors. Earn bonus resources, unlock new buildings, gain additional villagers, and discover unique abilities to shape and customise your evolving religion. But beware - falling short of the Gods' expectations may unleash powerful curses with unsavory effects.
Tailor your religion to your vision by choosing and prioritising unique abilities gifted by the Gods. Will your village become an industrial powerhouse or a serene paradise? The more Elders in your village, the greater the benefits your religion can bestow. However, you must ensure your population continues to grow. A decline in the number of Elders who call your village home will threaten your religion’s ability to support the benefits and beliefs that you will inevitably grow to become dependent on.
Establish structures that generate knowledge, and use this newfound wisdom to unlock groundbreaking technologies. These secrets will propel your village's expansion, elevate your population's happiness, and serve as a shield against the wrath of the Gods. Yet, proceed with caution; the divine powers may not always approve of your scientific pursuits…
