Awoken

Awoken is a passion project of mine. For over six years, in my free time, I have been single-handedly building a small living world inhabited by people with problems of their own. Through your hero, you can freely explore this world or follow the story as you investigate a disaster of unknown origin.
A magical accident led to a region-wide outburst of dark magic that created the Zone. Entering it is painful. The deeper you venture, the more dangerous it becomes and the stranger the phenomena you encounter. Can you overcome the harsh environment and uncover the truth behind it?
You can face the challenge alone or with a group of up to three companions. Through dialogue, you can build relationships with them, help them with their personal quests, discover what drives them, and eventually become friends. You can also influence their development by choosing their attributes and spells.
Combat is real-time and fast-paced. Your companions have minds of their own, and if you prefer to command only your hero, you can. When facing more dangerous enemies, you can take direct control of each companion and issue individual orders. To make things easier, you can pause the game at any time and plan your actions at your own pace.
The story is narrated by a storyteller and accompanied by a series of beautiful hand-drawn illustrations. It follows an investigation into a secretive order connected to the magical outburst. Along the way, you can help the people you meet and make choices that shape the world, usually for the better. You won't be forced into constant decisions between bad and worse outcomes.
From the beginning, my goal has been to create a feel-good adventure: a journey through the land of Rivana with a group of companions who support one another rather than constantly arguing over every decision. A game where you can simply enjoy being the hero.
