Azure Archipelago

Overview

Azure Archipelago is a survival multiplayer game designed to integrate technology and science into survival. Thrive solo by any means necessary or create a community and advance together, Teaming allows you to share your advancements and spoils with your friends, or enemies. This isn't a pvp focused game, but all power to you. Primitive structures are for those efficiency focused scrappy players who are looking for their next pillage. Story mode allows you to explore the history of the archipelago you inhabit, take down the creature that brought your company to its knees and advance the future. Each island in the archipelago has its own diverse ecosystem you can nurture or exploit, its up to you on these islands.

Gameplay Overview
Our main gameplay experience is survival with the help of technology by any means necessary. You can; craft, hunt, explore, mine, or forage for the resources you need to make machines that automate farming, crafting, sorting, and much more. Survive in sandbox or complete your mission in story mode with the help of science, its your number one tool for survival. Make sure to manage your health, hunger, thirst, sleep, and body temperature as you explore the archipelago which vary from lava filled deserts, to jungles, to a completely frozen over island. Luckily technology is in abundance with some left behind, but most of it new. You will have access to lots of unique tools to automate, enhance or, unlock new aspects of the game.

Story Mode
Story mode will be a single player story campaign with you playing the main character, Alex. You and your girlfriends company Vernix is at threat of being shut down by a global government, travel back to the now abandoned Azure Archipelago with the help of your best friends 8 years after a terrible incident caused a full evacuation and fix the past and advance the future.
Story Mode is planned to release in version B.1.0


Sandbox Mode
Sandbox mode is a free for all experience where you can modify your game with mods, or built into the game modulators. Modulators are things you can purchase using in game earned currency to change aspects of your sandbox world such as, allowing flight, creative mode, infinite night, day, unique resources, or making the game more challenging by disabling respawning. Mods are a very large part of gaming culture and we plan to support mods and mod developers by having modding support as early as version B.5.0.

Progression
Throughout the game you will accumulate XP, which will level you up unlocking; multiplayer, profile badges, skins from story mode, new modes and more to be announced features. In both Sandbox and Story mode you will have contracts to complete, when completing contracts you will be awarded credits and XP. Credits can be used in the in game shop to purchase; character cosmetics, gameplay modulators, maps, and community created content.
Multiplayer / Servers
Players can connect to other players sandbox worlds as easily as sending an invite with a cap of 12 players, but if you crave something more populated you might enjoy checking out some of the player hosted servers.
Versions / Release
We are planning on having 3 release phases: Alpha, Beta, and Release. Each version number has a letter suffix describing the phase, and a number version.
