Seasons of Solitude

Seasons of Solitude is a turn-based tactics game where you outwit the spirits of Estonian folklore, from a Devil who rolls burning boulders to a Nix who sings men into the water. Beat the two spirits who hold each land and they join your side.

Every spirit in the old forest thinks it can't be fooled. Prove them wrong, and they'll join you. See their next move coming, set your trap first, and let the land do the rest.

Outthink your rival
Each match is two spirits against two on a small hex board. Corner a rival against the rocks and it's knocked senseless. Push it into the bog and it's stuck. Push it into deep water and it's gone for a round.

Four seasons, four different boards
The marsh is deep water in spring, safe shallows in summer, bog in autumn and ice in winter. A plan that works now can fail next season.
Six spirits, each with their own tricks
One grows forests to trap you, one calls down storms, one hunts you with wolves, and one steals your offerings.

Hold the altars to win the land
Altars earn you favour every season. Hold yours, take your rival's, and be the first to earn enough.

Win them over
Beaten spirits join you. Pick your next pair from everyone you have won over, and go on to the next land.

Fixed lands rather than random runs, and a lost land can be played again.
