What is Volithine?
Most bystanders assume it’s nothing but a seasonal disease, but those that have seen it for themselves know the truth: Volithine creates monsters. If Volithine gets into your bloodstream, you’ll turn into a hideous beast… at least that’s what they say. And unfortunately, Daren’s infected with it, and he’s been banished from his home forever. Eek.
Daren’s Been Banished?!
Don’t worry, he’s not out of options yet! Somewhere in Irlia is a small guild of mercenaries who have been infected by Volithine, but still seem “normal.” Lucky for Daren, he’s their latest recruit. Sure, he can’t really fight, but at least he has a good head on his shoulders. Unless a mutated wolf bites it off.
So What’s The Plan Now?
Inquisitive, aren’t you! As Daren, you’ll form bonds with your new guildmates, learn about the mutagen that changed them, and start piecing together a romance! Daren seems especially drawn to Sparrow, a quiet fox who may end up with feelings for him, too… assuming they don’t get swallowed up by the adversity surrounding them. Because when it comes to a mutagen like Volithine, there’s no limits to the kinds of characters you’ll end up meeting.
