The genre of the game is survival dungeon-crawler. Your goal is to explore the Unruly Caves, discovering their secrets, fighting enemies and overcoming various difficulties.
Project GNOM has a moderate gameplay pace. The hero will have to work hard with a pickaxe to get to ore deposits and find secrets hidden from the eyes. Most enemies can be dealt with with an axe and shield, but often you'll need to use a variety of traps to be more effective. If things get too difficult, you can retreat or try to push enemies against each other.

The stones themselves are also dangerous. In the caves are not uncommon collapses, and after each blow with a pickaxe can appear, for example, poisonous gas, flow lava that burns the stones, and may happen and even worse. But the dwarf has to dig. He needs resources to survive. He searches for knowledge left in the caves long before him by other pioneers.

The found schemes and recipes will become the basis of character development. Using them he will improve his characteristics and expand his abilities. For all this you will also need resources, but at the same time their extraction will not take the lion's share of time. You can also build up your base to gain an advantage over your enemies. Additional quests and dungeons will brighten up the harsh everyday life of a miner. Find talking stones and they'll tell you what happened to your tribesmen in the eerie Unruly Caves.
