Make sure that both your citizens and merchants feel safe in your city. Build walls, gates, and towers to protect your city against waves of enemies. As your settlement grows, it will increasingly become a target for raids and the intensity of the attacks will increase. While you'll initially only be raided by simple thieves, soon bandits or giant berserkers will be at your gates. Always keep an eye on your defenses.
