Benevolent is a first-person narrative game following royal guard Quin Hawthorn, who returns to her home kingdom to find the duchess potentially missing, but nobody believes her, and doubt is cast at every turn. Uncover secrets, search for truth, and unravel the silence before it unravels you.
Once a trusted protector and childhood companion of the duchess, Quin arrives to find her absence explained away by vague travel plans and political pleasantries. But the halls of the estate are too quiet, and something about the air feels wrong. With each encounter and through each room, Quin faces indifference, deflection, and the slow realization that the truth has been buried – or perhaps purposefully misconstrued.
As players explore abandoned corridors and quiet corners of a fractured kingdom, they’ll uncover hidden notes, contradictory accounts, and long-forgotten history. Benevolent is a slow-burn emotional journey that explores themes of loyalty, power, and the cost of being the only one asking questions no one wants answered.
Developed by Georgia-based indie studio Skango Games, Benevolent marks the studio’s first original narrative IP. With a focus on atmospheric storytelling and grounded emotional tension, Skango blends environmental exploration with personal stakes in a story that lingers long after the screen fades to black.
