Jeppe & Oswald

Help pixie boy Jeppe to pass his pixie exam! Master fun challenges, build pixie doors, customize your own pixie, and with tiny steps make the big world a better place. The hand drawn platformer is an adventure full of danger, cosy places – and an egocentric hamster who wants to throw Jeppe out of his house (but ends up becoming his best friend).
The Story – Pixie meets Hamster
We tell the story of pixie boy Jeppe, who desperately wants to become a House Pixie – an extremely dangerous profession, if you're only about 12 centimeters tall. That's why he has to pass his Pixie Exam. For the very first time, Jeppe may step out into the big, wide world to make it more beautiful and 'pixie-ish‘. Easier said than done – especially since he runs into Oswald, a hoarder hamster who hates pixies.

The Game – Fun for the whole family
„Jeppe & Oswald“ is a narrative adventure platformer with mini-games. You can beautify an old house, scare away hairy spiders and master surprising challenges, such as a blueberry battle with hamster Oswald.

Each quest you complete will be rewarded with a badge, which is collected in the official ‚Pixie Compendium‘.
Coop Mode - Great for siblings and friends
The cooperative mode enables a second player to join the game as Bjolla, a bold and capable Forest Pixie who supports Jeppe along the way.

Customization - Be creative
Once you’ve completed Jeppe’s story, you can create your own pixie as a playable character. You can also build and design your very own pixie doors.
Pixie Doors – a trending topic
At key moments in the game, you can build pixie doors to explore new places in Jeppe’s pixie world. Search for the hidden parts, assemble them in a construction mini-game, and customize them according to your own ideas (Oswald the hamster is happy to contribute something from his collection). At the end of the game, there will be an entire network of pixie doors that can be used for fast travel.

Children’s Book Adaption - made in Germany and Austria
The game is an adaptation of the turbulent 'Jeppe and Oswald' children's books by the female German duo „Dully&Dax“. The whole artwork (visuals and story) is made by them, author and ilustrator, to preserve the look of their children’s book and translate it as faithfully as possible to the game world. The entire game is developed in 2D, featuring 3D characters.
Development and programming are fully carried out in Austria, by Redox Interactive.

Funding
The Film and Media Foundation NRW supported the project with a concept funding. We also received prototype funding from the EUs Creative Europe program – as only one of 37 projects selected across Europe.

Status Quo
The prototype is complete and pre-production is finished. Now we are looking for a publisher in order to finish the game.
