Tales of Kathay

Tales of Kathay is a tactical turn-based RPG set in procedurally generated worlds shaped by centuries of simulated history.
Before your adventure begins, the world creates its own past. Kingdoms rise, factions expand, wars are fought, settlements are founded, cities fall, and forgotten powers leave their mark on the land. The map you explore is not just random terrain, but the result of everything that happened before your first step.
Explore ancient ruins, protect villages, raid dungeons, craft equipment, join faction wars, and decide what kind of mark your hero leaves behind. When one story ends, the world continues.

Combat is built around positioning, action points, abilities, and careful decision-making.
Every turn asks you to make meaningful choices. Do you close the distance, hold the line, spend your action points on attacks, reposition, use an item, or prepare for the next round? Victory comes from planning, adaptation, and using the tools your character has earned.
There is no single correct way to win. Build your character, use the terrain, craft your gear, and find your own solution.

Your journey through Kathay is not only about battle. Crafting plays a major role in how you prepare for danger.
Gather materials, forge useful equipment, improve your chances in combat, and adapt your tools to the threats you face. Whether you are preparing for a dungeon, a faction conflict, or a long expedition into dangerous lands, your preparation matters.

Kathay is not waiting for you to save it. People have their own goals, conflicts, and ambitions. Wars can break out. Borders can shift. Villages can suffer. Powerful groups can rise while others are wiped from the map.
You can take sides, profit from chaos, defend settlements, undermine enemies, or ignore the war entirely and deal with the consequences later.
A village you protect may become a thriving town. A faction you help may dominate the region. A threat you leave alone may grow into something far worse.

Your hero’s story may end in glory, retirement, or death. But the world does not end with them. 
Start a new character years later in the same world and discover what changed. Old allies may be gone. Former enemies may have grown stronger. Settlements may have expanded. Ruins may remain from conflicts that happened long ago. You may even find traces of your previous hero’s journey.
