Fragmentary is a knowledge-based puzzle game about a character which struggles in life with some problems and finds himself in the middle of a challenge to piece together his memories. Find the items to remind him his past again.
Core Gameplay Mechanics
Turn-Based Card Strategy & Combat
Cards are your basic tool for movement on and interaction with the game field. They are not only playable, you can also interact with them to change some variables related to cards.
Engage in turn-based combat which requires not only strategy, but also knowledge, puzzle solving and trial-error.
Knowledge-Based Puzzles
Cards are also your keys to the world, you'll use them to open pathways or solve puzzles. Maybe, the card itself could be a puzzle in some cases.
Progress is gated by the knowledge, not keys. You must explore the environment to find clues and items.
