The world of Statera is already at war.
An ambitious empire advances through force, fear, and promises of safety through control. Cities fall. Borders collapse. Monsters roam once-peaceful roads. Beneath the conflict, ancient powers stir, and time itself begins to fracture.
But this story isn't about an empire, an ancient prophecy, or the fate of the world.

At its center is a middle-aged former martial artist with one simple goal: find a missing loved one.
She's out of shape, tired, stubborn, and far from the legendary hero anyone would expect to save the world.
She doesn't seek glory. She doesn't have all the answers. And she certainly can't do it all alone.

Its characters are not perfect heroes.
The men are tough, proud, capable, and unapologetically masculine. They value discipline, brotherhood, courage, and standing between danger and those who need protecting. Their confidence is tested, their convictions challenged, and their strength means little without restraint.
The woman protagonist at the center of the story is every bit as human. She has weaknesses, makes mistakes, needs the people around her, and finds extraordinary resolve in circumstances she never wanted to face.
Their strengths complement one another. Respect is earned through actions, loyalty is tested through hardship, and sometimes the bravest thing a person can do is admit they need help.
There is room for toughness and tenderness, courage and fear, irreverent humor and genuine sacrifice.

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER
Critical Chaos is the product of more than seven years of solo development and a lifetime of experiences that shaped the stories I wanted to tell.
As a career military veteran, I've known the importance of loyalty, discipline, camaraderie, leadership, and having the courage to act when the odds are against you.
I've also learned that strength isn't the absence of compassion, confidence isn't arrogance, and courage isn't the absence of fear.
Those values helped shape Critical Chaos.
The military operations, decisions, weight of leadership, and consequences of impossible odds reflect experiences that extend beyond video games. My own experiences and the stories shared with me by the people I served alongside influenced these stories.
For clarity, I have not disclosed any classified or sensitive military information, and I have not used any real individual's identity, personal details, or likeness. All characters, events, and military scenarios are fictionalized, drawing inspiration from real-world experiences while respecting the privacy and confidentiality of those who served.
But above all, Critical Chaos is a story about family, ordinary people finding extraordinary resolve, and the conviction to stand for what's right when walking away would be easier.
It's also my tribute to the classic RPGs that made me fall in love with gaming, the adventures that rewarded curiosity, trusted players to think for themselves, and kept offering new discoveries long after the story seemed finished.
