FOQUES

The Debut title from award-winning indie studio TheVampire’sManor, FOQUES is a passion project years in the making.
FOQUES is a third person, action-adventure turned survival horror based on oil painted techniques and eldritch horror. 

Follow in the paw prints of Kari; an arctic fox with a hopeful glimmer in her eye who must now escape her beloved home in an oil-painted Northern Canada, leaving behind her family and friends in a desperate race to survive. 
Kari possesses wild intelligence, only inhibited by her anxious streak; she relies on her sister, Trooper, for day to day life. Her many friends in the forest guide her path to survival, and being without them is like losing a limb. Thrust into a terrifying and alien world, Kari must remember all that Trooper taught her as she travels through unknown biomes. 

Her enemy is an eldritch bio-calamity known as The Stain, a parasitic force that is devastating the landscape and mutating the creatures Kari once knew into horrific monstrosities. The Stain eats away at what the creature once was and changes it beyond recognition to become the ultimate contagion, obliterating what it doesn’t need, and spreading to whatever can take it further. 
It takes a victim in The Herald of the forest, who slowly hunts Kari down and pursues her through her forsaken home.

Kari must use her wits, grit, and speed to escape this menace, as attempting to resist its violent force would only result in disaster. There is no combat option, only the dare to dodge through many stomping legs and utilise the environment around you to find a way out.

Lope through beautiful pallette knife forests all the way to brutalist brushstroke cities, all while escaping the scourge of The Stain. Solve puzzles in order to progress through worlds alien to the little fox, and find safe spots of darkness to ward off the danger lurking in every corner; all while remembering to hunt prey in the most barren areas in order to survive. 
Befriend new creatures on your travels, and band together in a story of altruism in order to overcome the blackened calamity of the stain; or remain alone, entrusting your survival to your own instincts and ensuring your place in a new world.
The world bares its teeth to bite you; but first, it must catch you.
