As a spell-weaving witch (or witcher), you reside on the edge of a small village that is befallen by a mysterious corruption. Strangers arrive in town each morning, and creatures come out of the forest at night, some friendly but many a threat to you or the village's inhabitants.
Will you make use of your arcane arts to help the townsfolk through the hardship, or will you tap into the dark corruption that promises overwhelming power?
However you may choose, you are threatened by suspicious townspeople and the accumulating darkness that feeds your very magic but might consume you whole if not wielded carefully.

Suspicion represents how much the villagers and clergy suspect you of witchcraft, and high levels will pose a problem for you, as they might confront you. Corruption is a dark manifesting force, and high levels of it will attract misfortune and dangerous creatures.  Both must be constantly balanced and are raised or lowered by diverse cards.

Cast spells, summon minions, hold rituals, craft objects, and explore the world. Throughout your journey, you grow your deck in various ways.

There is a vast variety of materials to gather for your witchcraft. Plants, mushrooms, insects, remains, arcane energy, and items can be found; some of them are unique and hold immense power.

The (mostly) innocent people and animals of the village nearby. They can be protected or manipulated for your own gains. They are at your mercy.

Strangers of all kinds are visiting the town; some of them are a threat, and some of them are helpful to you or the villagers. At the end it's up to you to decide who is a threat.

Beware the clergy, as they pose a threat to your very being; they will just visit the town or stay near the small-town church.

From deep within the forest, creatures of all sorts will appear at nighttime. Supernatural beasts or harmless animals.

While you experience the overarching main story, about your missing mentor, there are small dynamic story events in which you need to make morally difficult decisions, leading to various consequences. Flavor text snippets on some cards enable you to learn more about the lore and might even hint at secrets that beckon to be uncovered.
