Roguefort

Roguefort is a turn-based open-world roguelike RPG where magic is cultivated rather than memorised from a spellbook. You play as an affineur, able to craft powerful spells through ancient arcane cheesemaking practices. Crawl dungeons, build a homestead, farm, fish, forage, sail boats, craft items, befriend wild creatures, ride animals, and play co-op with friends. Explore and conquer a massive handcrafted continent, contested by five great guilds on the verge of war.
Cultivate your magic

Raise livestock, gather rare ingredients, experiment with recipes to craft powerful synergistic magical effects. Blind your enemies with a smoked gouda fog, then heal yourself with a sunberry tomme. Or just wail on them with a two-handed sword. Traverse the continent of Cantal to discover how the land shapes your magic and your magic shapes the land - this is terroir.
Four graphical perspectives

Powered by the custom-made Opthalis Engine, experience Roguefort through four distinct visual styles: classic ASCII, pixel art, 2.5D isometric, and immersive 3D first-person. Switch between them anytime to see your adventure in a new light and play however you prefer.
Explore a living continent

Explore Cantal in Adventure Mode, where the overarching landscape never changes, but the dungeons, encounters, weather and ecology regenerate every run to make it fresh and full of surprises. Or you can venture into The Crossing mode, which provides an entirely new procedurally generated continent each run, with its own history.
As you explore, meet the inhabitants of the world who live, work, grow old, and remember your deeds (and misdeeds). Every NPC has a distinct personality and back story, and your choices shape branching quests and different possible endings to the game.
Permadeath or Wayfarer

Choose Permadeath for a traditional roguelike challenge, or pick Wayfarer mode, where death has consequences, but you can continue onwards with your character.
Co-op and community features
Team up in co-op with up to four players: explore, build, raid dungeons, sail, and quest together. In single player, you can also visit the Old Mouth, which is a vibrant trading hub where you can see other players, interact and chat with them, and send in-game mail.
