WHAT IS POOF?

Play with your friends as Gooblins, a cheeky and mischievous bunch of creatures. Run, hide, seek and fight in a twisted world of a child's imagination. Abuse your voice chat - the louder you scream, the faster you POOF!
Form alliances, stay loyal or betray your friends and be the last Gooblin standing.

We craft the world of POOF with human hands and brains. No slop invited. Only clay and play.

POOF is a multiplayer game, with every match divided into rounds.

In each round, one player is selected to hunt everyone down. The others must run, hide and outsmart their pursuer.

Gooblins on the run can use voice chat to charge invisibility bar. The one chasing them can dash to catch everyone before time runs out. Others need to survive - whether by working together, setting traps or betraying everyone.

We use proximity voice-chat to make the in-game sound a crucial part of our gameplay. Our voice-chat is not a separate feature but an immersive tool that works like environmental and adaptive audio. Your voice will sound different when you hide inside a barrel. Your enemy's footsteps will come with a clear direction of their whereabouts. Items and buffs will allow you to manipulate the sound to your advantage and much more.

Trust nobody. Explore. Hide. Fight. Be quiet as a crooked mouse... or risk it all and screeeeeam!

You can find tens of mysterious items hidden throughout the map. Every item can surprise you in many ways, giving you new tools to experiment and try different strategies.

Loot a chest and choose how your item works: traps, weapons, distractors, movement abilities, exploration buffs and plenty of other things await in the circus of our imagination.
And if you find something you really want? Steal it from another player. Huehue.

Nurse, The Scalpel!
You find a plastic scalpel that looks to be experienced with many fake surgeries on teddy bears and dolls. It calls to you with a weirdly dark urge - you can either cut off your foot or cut out your heart.
You choose to be heartless.
As you cut it out, you receive a decoy nade that baits your opponents with beautifully disrespectful teabags.
But what would have happened if you had cut off your foot?

Our map is like childhood on acid - trippy, weird, built from clay, hopes and dreams.
Explore secret rooms, hidden passages, easter eggs and strange little details that slowly reveal the mysteries of the Gooblins and their world. Heavy lore awaits those brave (and weird) enough to uncover it.

Exploration isn't the only reason to look around. Every corner can become a hiding spot, an ambush point or an opportunity to turn the environment against your friends.

And, as with everything in POOF, sound matters.
Listen closely. You might hear footsteps. Heavy breathing. A fearful squeak. Or a full-on panic scream - the last resort to POOF before you get caught.

Every match of POOF is its own chaotic little story - but your Gooblin's journey doesn't end there.

POOF’s art style is heavily inspired by the works of oldschool Polish stop motion studio Se-ma-for. We grew up watching animations that blended hand-crafted toys and dolls with bizarre post-soviet lightning and surreal aesthetics.
We want the world of POOF to combine the realm of a child's imagination and its symbols with an unsettling feeling that just won’t go away. Just like Twin Peaks, Neverhood or The Nightmare Before Christmas made us feel when we were kids.

We use clay and play to create cute nightmares.
Everything you see in POOF starts in the real world - with clay, paint, glue, paper, crayons and whatever else we can get our hands on.
We build our world by hand, then use technology to bring it to life and make it even stranger!

Each piece made for POOF is hand-made and uniquely textured, giving the players the uncanny urge to touch and experiment with everything they see.
The same goes for our sound design. We smash, scratch, break, clap, squeeze and record before turning them into the twisted soundscape of POOF.
