Card Chess

Card Chess is a free and open-source online PvP strategy game blending classic chess with card gameplay. Inspired by chess and Magic: The Gathering, each player starts with just a king and a custom 60-card deck that lets you deploy pieces, destroy enemy pieces, draw cards, and tactically control the board.

In every match, strategic card play and traditional chess movement combine: use cards to influence piece deployment and board state, then move your pieces wisely to trick your opponent and even to capture their king directly.


Current 2026 Q2 Release Scope
• Direct PvP linking game play.
• One shared pre-set 60-card deck per match ensures balanced play for all.
• Full open-source access — no fees, no ads, no paywalls.

Future Plans
• Deck Editor & New Cards – Once the community hits ~500 total games played, new cards and a deck building system will be added to the game development plan
• Expansion & Refactor – As the player base grows, the game could expand with more mechanics, content, and deeper strategic options — all remaining open and freely accessible.
