Lead a modern army into another world

Rifles & Runes is a single-player RTS that combines tactical cards, exploration, and extraction. Lead modern troops through a portal to gather resources, explore ruins, and fight the creatures of another world. How much you bring home depends on how you manage your troops and when you decide to leave.
Scout the map and establish outposts

Send scouts to locate mineral deposits and enemy positions. Build mining machines to gather resources and radar stations to expand your view. Spend your income on troops, equipment, and facilities, while saving enough for the return trip. More mines mean more income, but also more ground to defend.
Command your troops and defend your outposts

Infantry, tanks, rocket artillery, and aircraft each have a role. Reposition your troops, concentrate their fire, and protect your mining sites. As the world takes greater notice of you, enemy attacks become stronger. Keep advancing, or bring your scattered forces back together and prepare to leave.
Support your army with cards and research

Use cards to add shields, improve firepower, or deploy support buildings. Some cards are consumed when played; others can be used again after a cooldown. Combine them with research upgrades and the artifacts you find to change your army’s abilities and try different tactics.
Open the portal and bring your resources home
he return trip costs resources, and extracting your troops and equipment comes at a cost too. Once the return portal is ready, you still need to hold out through the extraction countdown. Use the resources you bring home to unlock more weapons and units for your next expedition.
