During the “Golden Age of Aviation,” Gee Bee aircraft were among the pioneering pylon racing designs that captivated just about everyone. Their teardrop-shaped fuselages, coupled with small wings and control surfaces, required a skillful hand to fly well, but with the right pilot, they dominated the race course. Back by popular demand, the E-flite® UMX™ (Ultra Micro eXtreme) Gee Bee R-2 returns with a more powerful 2S and 3S compatible power system, a modified airframe to handle the extra power and speed, plus exclusive AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select technologies that make it easier and more enjoyable for a wider range of pilots to fly.

This model is equipped with Horizon Hobby and Spektrum exclusive AS3X (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) and optional-use SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) Select technologies, and when SAFE Select is turned on using the mode switch (B on the Spektrum InterLink DX controller) it offers:
Pitch and Bank Angle Limits: These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling: The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the center position. It’s also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs and landings.
