Your music becomes the track
Ever wanted to ride inside a song? Rhythm Racer turns any track into a 360° racing tunnel and drops you inside it.
Every song is analysed and used to build the track around you. Bass, drums, melody and changes in the music all affect what happens as you race.
Bring your own library or choose from 110+ built-in original tracks. MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A and FLAC are supported.
The same song always generates the same track, so once you have played it you can start learning it, improving your run and chasing a better score.
Single Player
Pick a song and take on the track.
Move between 12 lanes around the tube, collect gems, avoid barriers and try to finish with the highest score you can.
Single Player is about learning the music and improving your own run. Play something familiar, throw in a song you have never tried before, or work your way through the built-in library.
You can also race against leaderboard ghosts, including your own previous best runs.
Multiplayer
Race against up to three other ships on the same track.
Multiplayer supports 2-4 player split-screen and can also fill empty slots with AI opponents across different difficulty levels.
Play against friends, AI, or a mixture of both.
Because everyone is racing the same generated track, knowing the song can make a real difference.
Cruise Mode
Cruise is for when you want the music and the visuals without turning everything into a competition.
Choose a longer track or playlist and keep going through a continuous sequence of changing tubes.
There is still plenty happening around you, but the focus is less on chasing scores and more on putting some music on and enjoying the ride.
Stream Mode
Stream Mode lets your Twitch chat join the game.
Viewers type !play in chat to enter the race. They do not need to own or install Rhythm Racer. Their ships are controlled by AI and appear directly in the game alongside the streamer.
That means a stream can turn into a race involving the people watching it rather than leaving them on the sidelines.
Viewers can join the queue throughout the stream, giving the streamer a constantly changing group of racers to play against.
It works with any of the music available in the game, including the stream-safe tracks included with Rhythm Racer.
Scores & Stats
Every run contributes to your history.
The Scores & Stats area shows your lifetime totals, individual song history, achievements and ship usage.
You can see which ships you have played, which ones you use most often and which ones you still need to race with.
For players who like chasing scores or completing achievements, it gives all of that progress somewhere to live.
Make it yours
Choose from 20 ships and customise their colours, then change the tube itself with different rail colours, patterns and themes.
There are millions of possible colour combinations, so the same track can look very different depending on how you choose to play it.
Ghosts and leaderboards
Every song has its own leaderboard.
You can race against your own previous runs or download another player's ghost and race alongside them.
Their ship follows the exact movements they made during their run, so if somebody beats your score you can see where they gained the advantage.
