Explore an open overworld where it's up to you to figure out which places to visit and piece the crisis together until you're able to tackle the root of the problem.
The top-down open world and random encounters take the player into action-packed sidescrolling scenes, where you'll have to use your wit, reflexes, and ingenuity to quickly get your bearings, defeat the enemies in your way, and get the rewards at the end of each gauntlet.
Certain items and tools will prove crucial to your progression. Scour the land to get an upper-hand in dealing with the crisis.
If you ever find yourself at a dead-end, explore more! A new key, ability, or item in another place might be just what you need.

The mission is dire, but you need not worry! Alter the gameplay through SKULLS, individual gameplay modifiers that change the way you play - and your score. Make the game easier through boosts like extra health and damage, make it harder through invisibility and weaker weapon reach, or make the game weird through...
