Spectrends is a cosy pixel-art game about raising pets. You play Lemuel, who walks a farm town, meets the people who live there, and slowly learns the story behind the cracked blue cup, the torn map and the strange bell that came with the farm.

[*] Story beats happen where the people are. Walk up to Ruth by the house to begin. The text types out and is read aloud by a narrator.
[*] Book One has twelve chapters. Four of them end in a story fight, and finishing the book opens free play on the farm.

[h2]Hatch, catch and raise pets[/h2]

[*] Spend Kennel treats to hatch new pets, or upgrade the power of the ones you have.
[*] Walk in the woods and wild pets turn up. Hold the mouse on one, send a pet to meet it, and win to bring it home to the barn.
[*] Every pet has a power kit (guard, burst or tank) that changes how it fights.
[*] Browse your pets in the Barn, look at pet families, watch two of your pets fight each other, and read the Lore desk.

[h2]Turn-based fights, no luck[/h2]
Each fight is a simple choice every round: Attack or Guard. Damage, armor and blocking are fixed, so winning comes from picking the right pet and the right moment. Fights are gentle: a pet that loses is just out of steam.
[h2]A season to come back to[/h2]
Season One is an eight-week season with a season board, weekly quests and a rival night. Rewards are Kennel treats and cosmetic titles, never anything you have to buy.
