Phantasm Codex is a shadow-play style role-playing game.
The game originates from events recorded in the "Book of Han", an ancient Chinese classic from the Han Dynasty. It documents a sorcerer who mastered a spell to bring the dead back to life, which later generations speculate to be the origin of shadow play. Our story is based on this allusion, deriving a shadow puppet world created by the sorcerer. In the game world, everything is made of shadow puppets, manipulated by invisible hands.
Shadow Monsters and Spirits

In the shadow puppet world, there are some special characters and monsters. They seem to have inextricable connections and secrets with the manipulator of the shadow puppet world, waiting for players to explore.
Rewrite Destiny
The personality, abilities, talents, and destiny of each character have long been written in the script, while the player and some characters master a skill to modify the script or even control other characters. By stealing, swapping, and transferring the traits of oneself and others, you can change your own and others' destinies.

Exchange Lives
The game features numerous characters with different skills. Players can acquire others' skills or control other characters through certain methods, thereby gaining an advantage by using skills in various quests, including tasks for different professions and identities. At the same time, players need to combine various traits and plan strategies to achieve their ultimate goals.

Players can temporarily control other characters to gain an advantage and complete quests.
Rich Scenarios
Combining Chinese geography and history, the game features a variety of maps and events designed for players to explore. There are bustling marketplaces and desolate snow villages meticulously based on real historical geography, as well as the oppressive and mysterious Netherworld.

Workshop
Support for the Workshop has been implemented. Mod authors can modify any code through patches and supplement game content to create their own stories. Of course, in the future, we will provide an in-game visual editor or simple file configuration options to lower the requirements for mod creation.

The game integrates a variety of gameplay styles. Complete tasks by sneaking and avoiding the sight of specific characters. Interact with content in the environment to overcome obstacles or advance the plot and quests.
