True to its early-80s inspiration, your ship moves left and right only — pure, unfiltered classic-arcade tension, no shortcuts. (Vol.2 continues the story in the late-80s/90s era, when full 2D movement enters the fight.)
Every level throws something new into your path:
randomized enemy formations that never play out the same way twice,
reinforcement waves that swarm in the moment you think you've cleared the field,
and a rogue's gallery of boss encounters that are as strange as they are dangerous
— a stuttering space-cowboy octopus hurling lasers from inside an asteroid field,
a flickering digital squid that can invert your controls mid-fight,
a semi-android space monkey riding a hoverboard-mounted cannon capable of cutting moons in half.
