The Wanderer is a 2D pixel-art survival game set in a ruined post-apocalyptic wasteland. Create your own survivor, choose your past life, and begin a new journey across a dangerous world filled with unknown locations, scarce resources, hostile encounters, traders, loot, and unexpected events.
Each new game creates a fresh map to explore, meaning every run can lead to different discoveries, different dangers, and different survival stories. One journey might start with a desperate search for food and water. Another might lead you straight into a hostile fight, an abandoned house, or a loyal dog waiting in the wasteland.
Survival is about choices. Do you enter the house or leave it alone? Do you risk a long expedition with low supplies? Do you spend your resources now or save them for later? Do you play casually, go hardcore, or create your own custom challenge with world modifiers?

Create Your Wanderer
Start each run by creating your own survivor. Choose your appearance, name your character, and select a past life that shapes how your journey begins.

Build a Life at Camp
Your camp is your base in a world that wants you dead. Rest, recover, manage supplies, plan your next move, and prepare before heading back into the unknown.
Food, water, health, storage, carry weight, fuel, danger, and time all matter. Staying alive means watching your resources and knowing when to return before it is too late.

Explore a New Map Every Time
Every new world gives you a different wasteland to explore. Travel across the map, discover unknown points of interest, and choose where your next expedition will take you.
Some locations may hold useful loot. Some may hide danger. Some may change the course of your entire run.

Search Locations and Make Choices
Arrive at abandoned houses, ruined places, camps, and mysterious locations. Sometimes nobody is inside. Sometimes something is waiting.
You decide what to do.
Leave safely, enter and search, risk your supplies, or push deeper into danger for the chance of better rewards.

Find and Train a Pet
The wasteland can be lonely, but you may find a loyal companion along the way.
Look after your pet, feed and care for it, train it, and send it out to gather supplies. A good pet can help you survive longer, fight harder, and make the end of the world feel a little less empty.

Fight Hostiles
Not everyone survived the end of the world with good intentions.
Face hostile survivors and dangerous encounters in turn-based battles. Your survivor, your pet, your gear, and your choices all matter when a fight breaks out.
Sometimes fighting is the only option. Sometimes surviving means knowing when not to.

Traders, Loot, and Supplies
Search the wasteland for useful items, resources, weapons, food, water, and supplies. Meet traders and decide what is worth buying, selling, or saving.
