Imperium of the Stars is a single-player Gothic real-time 4X grand strategy game. Build an empire, govern its worlds, and command its fleets.
After three centuries of isolation, scattered civilizations reach for the stars again. Distant beacons burn above lost colonies. Choose one of four distinct factions and decide how your realm will endure.
Four playable factions: Distinct economies, technologies, and institutions shape how you rule.
Choose your galaxy: Generate 1,000 to 10,000 star systems with configurable shape and density.
A living galaxy: Events, Situations, and crises test your decisions.
Command at any scale: Delegate to governors or command individual worlds and fleets.
War in real time: Fight fleet actions and planetary sieges. The great powers cannot negotiate peace.
Choose your director: Balanced and Grimdark offer different rules and experiences. Retune your chosen director mid-campaign.
The Imperium
Reunite scattered worlds through Faith. Govern through the Court, Choir, and Great Houses, balancing their demands as the Reclamation advances.
The Void Eternal
Draw worlds into Oblivion. Deepen Communion and attune to the Void's Aspects, choosing the powers that shape your realm.
The Grokhar
Unite rival packs through strength. Turn salvage into ships and develop your Pack-Lord to command the growing Grokhar host.
The Lattice
Enter the galaxy for the first time as a crystalline Host. Consume biomass, choose permanent Adaptations, and prepare the Awakening.
Petitions and dilemmas come before the Throne. Your choices shift loyalties and shape later events. During a supply collapse, open the stores and restore food production before hardship becomes unrest.
Living Sagas follow your reign. The Reclamation charts the Imperium's return to the lost stars, shaped by the realm you build and the oaths you keep.
Deploy fleets across dozens of ship classes. Follow 2D engagements and land regiments for sieges where terrain and morale matter.
Build across your empire or let governors develop their sectors. Set a Grand Campaign's commitment and risk; it musters task forces and conducts the offensive. Take direct control whenever you choose.
