This game-expanding DLC adds 50 “puzzle battles” and a light story to wrap around it, which is played week by week along with the main game (with allowances for those who have completed the game already).
Puzzle battles consist of prescribed scenarios which must be “solved” in one turn. Players are given a certain set of characters and must figure out how to eliminate all enemies with a limited number of moves. New items add some spice to the mix - there’s an orb which will fill any character’s special meter and another which confers a specific technique upon the character that touches it.
As players complete the puzzle battles they’ll be rewarded with three new techniques to study (which are usable in the main game), as well as a final boss that provides even more puzzles. A multi-part story stitches it all together and gives Faye and co. the opportunity to hang out with each other a bit more.
This DLC took our creative director some 6 hours to complete. Will you do it faster? Probably
