Majhi

The river has no name. You have no name. You row.
At Nirmala's riverside inn, the village is commemorating the annual Nabanna festival. While drinking his cup of khejurer rosh, Saha, a moneylender, collapses. Panic and flames engulf the local inn. By the time the fire dies down, eight are waiting at the river’s edge. 
Listen to what each of them remember, identify the contradictions, piece together the story, and decide who carries the most blame.
How it plays
Majhi is a side-scrolling narrative game played with the mouse. You are the ferryman. The dead are your work.
Row. Take up the oar and move along the river. Each soul waits further out than the last.

Talk. Click a spirit to hear their account of the night. Each one saw something different.

Gather clues. Every conversation leaves you with something. It goes into your journal, which you can open at any time.

Carry them across. When a spirit has finished, hold and drag upward to send them on.

Decide. At the end, you are asked who carries the most blame. Your answer decides how it ends.
