Rent Due is a first-person landlord sim where the property empire doesn't run itself. You run it. Answer the phone, buy your first trailer, furnish it room by room, and put it on the market. Then do the part other games skip: meet the applicants face to face, hand over the keys, and knock on doors when the rent comes due.
Build the portfolio
Start with $8,000, a laptop, and an uncle who stays on the line. Browse listings on PlotPoint, walk through every property before you buy it, and furnish your homes one set at a time. A well-kitted kitchen pays for itself in rent. Work your way up from the trailer park to the nicer streets, and when the open market runs thin there's always the auction house, where foreclosures go cheap and the bidding gets personal.

Borrow like you mean it
EstateBank fronts the cash, up to three notes at a time. Your credit line grows with every deed you hold, and the installment leaves your account every single week whether you had a good week or not. Debt is a ladder, as long as the rent outruns the payments.

Choose your tenants carefully
Applicants line up at your office. Run background checks to see their job, income, credit score, and their record. "Public intox at Build-A-Bear" is a real thing you will read in this game. Leases run short around here, a week to two months, so renewal day always comes: keep them, raise them, or let them walk. The guy you didn't vet? He's the reason your living room is gone.

Collect the rent yourself
Rent doesn't wire itself to your account. It piles up at the door until you come get it, and the calendar knows exactly who owes you and when. Knock, take the cheque in person, and keep the streak clean.

Answer the phone
Your tenants have your number and no sense of timing. Pipes burst, storms roll in, somebody's cousin moves in without asking, and every call is a decision with a price on it. Let it ring out if you dare. They remember. They all remember.

Evict by the book (or don't)
Non-payers get a notice signed by your own hand, stamped, and posted on their door in person. Just make sure you have grounds, because tenants fight back, and losing in court makes them untouchable. Thinking of raising the rent sky high to force someone out? The judge has seen that trick before. And yes, you can throw a punch. Keep swinging at the same tenant and you'll find out what lawyers cost.
