This game is heavily based on the lore established by the Backrooms Wikidot community. The game's interpretation of the levels, their connections, the entities that inhabit them, and many other aspects of the Backrooms universe draw from the wiki. Although, the game introduces its own gameplay systems, creative interpretations, and original content.
KNOWLEDGE
Surviving the Backrooms requires more than simply running from danger. Observe everything and everyone, learn about the entities you encounter, and document discoveries to build your understanding of each environment. Using your journal will be essential for survival.
JOURNAL
The game features a journal that tries to condense the heavy amount of information present on the wiki into explorer notes, developed through personal experiences and exploration.
ENTITIES
The Backrooms are not as empty as they appear. Hostile entities inhabit these environments, presenting threats that require observation, caution, and an understanding of their behavior, although not all of them may be dangerous.
