Run, hide and survive
You have no weapons. You cannot fight what stalks the Hoia Baciu, only vanish into the dark before it finds you. Slip beneath tables, into barrels, behind bushes, and hold your breath as death passes inches away. When your vision blurs and your pulse hammers in your ears, whatever haunts these woods has already found you and you have only once choice: run for your life.

Face Your Past
The deeper you go, the more the forest bleeds into memory. Isabella's voice echoes between the trees, calling, guiding, accusing, leading you toward the truth of a life left behind and a death you can't explain. Piece together what happened through the fragments twisted in your mind, and find your dead lover...or whatever called you here instead.

Any tool comes in handy
Scavenge the forest for the gear you'll need to survive and progress. A lighter and GPS help you find your way through the dark, while a journal lets you record the runes and symbols you discover along the way. When something gets too close, a flare gun can drive it back or buy you time to run, but ammo is limited, so use it carefully.

These are just a few of the items waiting to be found, each one a small advantage in a place that offers none.
The legends are real
Inspired by the chilling folklore of Romania's Hoia Baciu Forest, this is the first chapter in the Dark Realms series. On the surface, the woods are picturesque, but beneath that calm, darkness and evil spread like a plague, and no one who enters is ever seen walking out. The story unfolds across multiple chapters, each with its own mechanics, enemies,  collectables and secrets to uncover.

The things that share these woods are older than the cult that worships them. Drawn from the darkest corners of Romanian myth, each is a horror with its own nature and its own rules for surviving it:
The Moroi: the restless undead, risen from unquiet graves to feed on the living.

The Solomonar: a weather-wizard of forbidden knowledge, master of the storms and the beasts that answer to him.

Muma Pădurii: the Mother of the Forest, an ancient hag who preys on the lost and the wandering.

Decode the Forest
Ancient runes bar your path and mechanisms rust in forgotten huts. Solve environmental puzzles woven into the world while cross-referencing your symbols journal, read the signs the dead left behind, and unlock the routes that lead you deeper.
