The mysterious master of the Dark Manor offers you one last assignment: enter his home and document the lives of its inhabitants, supernatural beings known as the Shadowless. The job sounds simple. Getting them to talk is another matter.

Explore the shifting halls of the manor and visit the distinct domains of its inhabitants. Investigate their surroundings, uncover pieces of their stories, and use what you learn to decide how to approach them.
But your time in the manor is limited. You cannot be everywhere at once, and every Shadowless expects something different from you.

Interview the Shadowless
Each inhabitant has their own personality, beliefs, fears, and boundaries. Choose your words carefully. Your decisions can earn their trust, close off opportunities, or change what they are willing to reveal.

Investigate the Manor
Explore the rooms and personal spaces of the Dark Manor. Examine unusual objects, piece together what they reveal, and gather information that can help you during later interviews.

Time Is Gold
Your assignment has a deadline. Decide who you spend your time with and which parts of the manor you explore. Pursuing one story may mean leaving another unfinished.

Read the Room
There is no single right way to approach the Shadowless. Each responds to different attitudes and ideas, so a choice that earns one inhabitant's trust may push another away. Understand who you are speaking to and choose your approach accordingly.

By the end of your assignment, the story you write will depend on who chose to trust you and what you managed to uncover. Not every secret in the Dark Manor will be yours to find.
