Every run is themed around one of ten authors, from Edgar Allan Poe to Alexandre Dumas, and their complete, unabridged, public domain text. No excerpts, no invented lore: The Raven, The Art of War, Romeo and Juliet, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Frankenstein, The Odyssey, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and The Count of Monte Cristo, all fully playable, all verified complete against the original published works. Twelve volumes take you through the same ten authors again and again, each pass harder than the last, taking you further and further into their masterpieces, so the game you finish is not the game you started.

Your goal is surpass the WPM (words per minute) target for each writing session before time runs out.

Cognitions: choose from dozens of equippable abilities slotted into your mind's loadout to boost your WPM. Earn new abilities one at a time from the author whose book you're transcribing

You conduct the author's words. Between rounds, the Author's Studio lets you spend your Sparks on permanent upgrades and to build a loadout for writing. Progress saves at page granularity, so you can drop in for a quick five-minute writing session and not lose progress when you step away.

Every classic you unlock stays unlocked, permanently. Visit the Reading Room where a real, properly-formatted library of the actual books you're transcribing are readable at your own pace.
