Story Experience:
"Weeping Souls" is a Chinese-style horror text adventure game. Set against the stage of the "Spirit Realm," the game casts the player as the chosen college student Shen Qingci, who must move through the interweaving of the Spirit Realm and reality, experiencing one eerie event after another built from obsession and resentment. With 180,000 words of non-repeating text, different endings and different choices will lead to entirely different truths and paths of return. While carrying on the traditions of horror, suspense, and tightly woven storytelling, the game devotes even greater effort to portraying the human hearts and emotions that struggle in the darkness.

Visual Effects:
In terms of visual effects, we strive to create striking atmospheric contrasts. The reality sections adopt a clean and bright Korean-style anime flat-color rendering, while the Spirit Realm sections shift into a cyberpunk Chinese-horror realistic thick painting style, using dark green tones, mist, talismans, and cold light to build an oppressive and eerie otherworld. We pay close attention to the detailed depiction of both the modern city and the Spirit Realm scenes, seeking to strike a balance between horror and beauty.

Shen Qingci

Shen Qingci is the character played by the player. He is a junior-year college student. On the surface he is an ordinary young man, but he is also a one-in-a-million "Night God." To stay alive, and for the sake of the trapped spirits, he chooses to become a Spirit Realm Walker.
Old Lin

Old Lin, Shen Qingci's college roommate and his best friend.
Lu Xiaoyu

Lu Xiaoyu, a kind-hearted high school girl, yet trapped in the Spirit Realm and turned into a weeping soul.
Grandfather

Shen Qingci's grandfather, who has passed away. He left a diary for Shen Qingci.
Lin Yue

Team Leader Lin, the enforcement captain of the Control Unit and a loyal henchman of Uncle Li. There are many others who serve Uncle Li just as faithfully.

Sound Effects
In terms of audio, we pursue a sound expression that resonates highly with the game's character. All of the female characters in the game are voiced by a professional live-actor team, striving to match the emotions and fates of each character. The key male characters are likewise performed by live actors. Moreover, every Spirit Realm is equipped with its own exclusive, brand-new background music, never repeated, all to let players truly sink into the experience. Both the score and the sound effects are independently designed for each Spirit Realm scene, controlling every detail from the warmth of everyday life to the oppression of the Spirit Realm.
