Draw to cast
There are no menus and no spell wheel. Every spell in Kalmareth is a stroke you trace in the air with your own hand. Learn the shape, commit to it, and release — or hesitate, and watch your opponent finish theirs first.
Six strokes
Six strokes have survived from the old catalogue. Each behaves under real physical constraints: projectiles travel, barriers hold, terrain rises where you place it. None of them are interchangeable. Knowing when not to cast matters as much as knowing how.
No interface
Your health is never shown as a number or a bar. You feel it — in sound, in motion, in the arena itself. Mana is the one thing you can read directly, from a gauge worn on your off hand.
The catalogue
Kalmareth is the name of a catalogue of strokes transmitted from the distant past. No one knows how many entries it holds, or why the strokes work at all.
