Idol Shell

Inspired by classic retro-style FPS games, Idol Shell brings an onslaught of mechanical foes who relentlessly pursue the player through a world of grunge-laden industrial facilities, ancient stone ruins, dusty ornate manors, and dark forgotten caves. Investigate the reason for the machines' presence by melting through them with the weapons at your disposal, locate their source, and discover the secret behind their creation.
Similar to early 1990s FPS games, movement is kept simple with no jumping. Old-school vertical auto-aim combined with the absence of vertical look makes combat accessible to newcomers while providing a familiar retro experience for seasoned players. Choose to book it through levels as fast as possible, shredding all that stand before you, or methodically explore your surroundings to search for clues leading to secrets and hidden paths.
Using an art style of flat 2D images created from 3D models, Idol Shell combines classic billboard-style visuals with modern techniques to create a unique visual experience for both nostalgia seekers and new players.
