Story
King John, who has waged war for nearly a decade against the Irish, Welsh, and French, has died of sickness and his soldiers march home for the first time in years. William of Cassingham returns to his modest estate to find it in ruins, his family missing, and the poorfolk suffering. At the heart of it - the corrupt Castellan who rules the county with an iron fist.
The Game
Own the Greenwood: Traverse the county across four biomes (forest, mines, villages, fortresses) in one expansive 2D pixel art map, featuring dynamic weather, time of day, and punishing boss fights.
Hunt in the Dark: You are one man against a garrison, so fight like it. Use stealth and a bow to rain arrows from afar, sneak in for up close kills, or ambush your enemies with environmental traps.
Four Deadly Disciplines: When stealth fails, use the dagger, sword, spear, or flail to launch an all-out assault, including the ability to dodge, parry, and punish. As you inspire hope in the populace and dread in the hearts of your enemies, earn Grace to further expand your skillset with four unique combat skill trees.
Never the Same Woods Twice: Fail in your quest and get an opportunity to try again, featuring full roguelite mechanics with persistent skill progression and procedurally generated enemy locations and tactics each new run.
