OMSI 2 Add-on ADL Enviro500

In 2020, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) set the course for a new generation of double-decker buses. The company opted for vehicles from British manufacturer Alexander Dennis (ADL).
From 2022 onwards, the production vehicles entered regular service in Berlin, gradually replacing the previous MAN double-deckers.
The ADL Enviro500 was adapted to meet the specific requirements of BVG's Berlin bus network.
At 4.06 metres high, the Berlin version is lower than many other variants of the double-decker.
This allows the vehicle to operate on routes with corresponding bridge height restrictions.
Three doors enable quick passenger boarding and alighting. Step-free access and two wheelchair spaces make the bus more accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. In total, the ADL Enviro500 can accommodate up to 112 passengers, including up to 80 seated passengers.
Modern equipment includes USB ports, air conditioning and large passenger information displays.
A digital cockpit is also part of the modern driver's workstation.
Alexander Dennis has decades of experience in building double-decker buses. Vehicles from the Enviro500 family are in service around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada and the USA.
With the ADL Enviro500, this modern Berlin double-decker is now also coming to the OMSI 2 bus simulator.
During development, particular attention was paid to authentically recreating the Berlin BVG version. Official plans and documentation from manufacturer Alexander Dennis served as the basis for the development. The vehicle for OMSI 2 is officially licensed by Alexander Dennis Limited.
In addition, the virtual Enviro500 was developed in cooperation with BVG bus drivers who are familiar with the real vehicle from their daily work. Their experience contributed to the development process and helped to create the most authentic possible recreation for OMSI 2.
The driver's workstation is also based closely on its real-world counterpart. The digital cockpit, Atron AFR 4 ticket printer and LAWO LED matrix are recreated alongside modern interior passenger information displays. A dedicated engine sound completes the driving experience.
The ADL Enviro500 expands the OMSI 2 fleet with a modern Berlin double-decker. The vehicle is ideally suited for use on existing Berlin maps such as Berlin Line 300, Berlin Line 186, Berlin X10 or Berlin BRT. Of course, the bus can also be used on numerous other OMSI maps.
Particularly interesting for owners of OMSI Berlin Line 186: From release, a bundle featuring the new ADL Enviro500 will be available on Steam. Owners of this map will be able to purchase the new double-decker at a reduced price through this bundle.
