SET THEM UP is a 4–12 player social deduction game built around one simple rule: your footprints never lie — unless someone makes them.
Complete your task, manipulate the evidence, frame another player, and clean up the trail before the detectives figure out what really happened.
COMPLETE YOUR TASK
At the start of the round, players spread across the map to complete their assigned tasks.
But wherever you go, you leave a trail of footprints behind.
Everyone can see the evidence forming around them, turning every movement into a decision. The route you take could eventually be used against you.
FRAME YOUR TARGET
Finishing your task is only the beginning.
Once you're done, you can start leaving another player's footprints behind instead of your own.
Lead the trail somewhere suspicious. Connect someone else to the wrong place. Create evidence that tells a completely different story.
But you only have a limited amount of fake trail to work with, so choose your route carefully.
ERASE THE EVIDENCE
When the task phase ends, the investigation begins.
No new footprints are created. What happened has already happened.
Now players can remove selected footprints from the map, destroying evidence that could expose them — or evidence that could prove someone else's innocence.
Every footprint you erase changes the story the detectives are trying to reconstruct.
PLAY AS A DETECTIVE
Some players take the role of detectives.
During the task phase, detectives enter the map later and see delayed footprint information rather than simply watching everything happen in real time.
Follow the trails. Catch players during the task phase. Then use the evidence left behind to work out who was really responsible.
TRUST THE TRAIL. OR DON'T.
A trail leading directly to a player might be genuine.
It might have been planted.
Part of it might already be missing.
And the person who looks completely innocent might simply have cleaned up better than everyone else.
In SET THEM UP, you're not just trying to avoid suspicion.
You're deciding where the suspicion goes.
