Six Ways to Play. Forge Your Own Path
1. Trade for Profit
Watch supply, demand, and prices across the realms. Buy low, sell high, and spot opportunities along the road as you gradually build your own trade routes and capital.
2. Capture and Train Spirit Beasts
Discover spirit beasts in the wilderness and ruins. Capture and raise them, then bring them on your journeys, assign them at your homestead, and deploy them in battle.
3. Hunt for Loot
Challenge fortified passes, perilous zones, and powerful foes. Explore repeatedly to obtain gear, manuals, materials, and new build possibilities.
4. Martial Arts, Techniques, and Build Crafting
Build around nearly 10,000 manuals covering internal arts, lightness skills, secret techniques, and external martial arts. Combine them with equipment, attributes, and coordinated party attacks to experiment with countless playstyles.
5. Six Simulated Career Paths
Government service, sect life, caravan escort, commerce, craftsmanship, and beast-taming—each path offers its own status, resources, quests, and ways to progress.
6. Theft
Strike at the right moment for immediate gains—but risk exposure, pursuit, and changes to your reputation and relationships.
Start as a Nobody
Choose your name, origins, aspirations, and the trade-offs that shape your background. Freely allocate attributes while embracing both strengths and shortcomings. Your starting point will shape the choices ahead, but it will never decide where you end up.
Travel the Five Realms
Follow the map of mountains and rivers to discover new locations. Weigh time, resources, and risk as you choose whether to stay, run trade routes, trade, steal, pay a visit, or press on. Towns, career hubs, wilderness sites, and the Heavenly Tome’s fortified passes will gradually piece together a jianghu landscape of your own.
Make the Heavenly Tome Your Home Base
The Heavenly Tome Homestead is a private pocket realm during your travels. Organize supplies, arrange production, recover, care for and train spirit beasts, and manage companions—then return to the outside world with fresh preparations. The homestead is not just a storage screen; it is the place you return to after every expedition.
Read Your Opponent in Battle
Combat unfolds along a continuous action timeline. Movement, terrain, facing, distance, and target selection all shape the value of every move; inner force, spirit power, and rage force you to weigh an opportunity now against your next action. Combine techniques, equipment, and coordinated party attacks; find openings, then strike, step back, or counter at the right moment. Every victory may yield another piece of loot worth studying.
Choose Your Own Path
Study martial arts and spells, or choose from six simulated career paths: government service, sect life, caravan escort, commerce, craftsmanship, and beast-taming. Status, organizational ties, personal abilities, and reputation shape one another; a single choice may change which places you can enter, whom you meet, and how you solve the next problem.
Meet People, Engage with the World
Recruit companions and get to know them, build relationships, and deal with quests, cases, and the consequences of theft. Divide your limited time among trade, production, exploration, and combat. Spirit beasts, equipment, skills, and resources all shape your readiness together—not as isolated numbers on a screen.
Your Choices Shape Your Jianghu
Establish yourself, enter a profession, earn merit, undergo evaluation, and rise through the ranks—gaining access to more organizational resources while taking on greater risks. Pursue renown, specialize in a single craft, or find your own way to survive amid the chaos. What matters is not assembling a single correct answer, but leaving a mark with every decision.
Development Status
Chronicles of the Otherworldly Heavenly Tome: Age of Turmoil is still in development. Playable systems—including character creation, map travel, the Heavenly Tome Homestead, pass exploration, combat, and basic equipment and loot—are being continually refined. Content for nearly 10,000 martial arts manuals, along with extensive build-crafting options, the trade-run economy, spirit-beast capture and training, theft and social risks, pass content, and spirit-beast combat timing, will continue to be adjusted as development progresses.
