Something sleeps beneath the roots.
Wurzeltiefe ("Rootdeep") is a deliberately compact metroidvania: a descent through painterly caverns with individually designed rooms shaped by light, water and rock.
26 painted rooms across two areas, from the dripping deep to the sunlit root crown
Five abilities that change the way back: climbing claw, storm dash, ghost wing, stone fist, glide
Two boss fights with distinct phases and patterns
Game feel first: coyote time, jump buffering, soft camera, hitstop — everything you feel rather than see
Speedrun timer & best times, fully optional
Full gamepad support, English and German
Adjustable graphics settings
Honestly: one run takes 2–3 hours. Wurzeltiefe doesn't want to fill a hundred hours — it wants every minute to land.
Early Access: the game is fully playable today, start to credits. We plan to add a third area and further improvements. Our current target is Q2 2027; scope and timing may change.
