MOTHERLODE is a first-person mining, prospecting, processing and factory-engineering game built around one fundamental idea: the material you dig out of the ground matters.
Sample the earth and search for promising deposits. Excavate finite, composition-bearing terrain. Haul what you recover, pan it by hand, or build increasingly capable processing systems to separate valuable products from ordinary material and tailings.
What begins with a shovel can become an industrial operation.

Excavated earth becomes material batches. Material can be processed, transported, stored, dumped into physical piles, separated into products and tailings, or deliberately discarded. Valuable material doesn't simply disappear because it passed through a machine.
