The Story
You are a clone. Humanity survives by decanting new minds from the Archive: every skill and every memory sealed into a lattice, printed into a new body, and sent to the frontier. There is no childhood, no family. It's your time to make the most of what life has become. Explore space. Connect with other clones. Build positive or negative relations. Set your mind to a goal and conquer.
Goals
This can take many forms. In Eclipsis, you can focus on becoming the richest clone in the known universe or simply be a mining worker, if you only have time to casually play a little bit. Everything a player does keeps the Eclipsis gears turning.
Challenges
Choose from many avenues. For instance, you can challenge yourself with hard missions that are doable alone, or easier with a group. Many of the challenges within Eclipsis can require you to spend time preparing your ship with good tech, augments, or anything that gives you an edge against the enemy.

Core Game Mechanics

Playtime
Essentially endless. If you're tired of fighting, you can lay low and wait for battle to steal loot. If you're tired of mining, you can go explore other spaces, deeper spaces, unknown wormhole locations. If you think you've seen everything, you can start ship and equipment production, and make your mark on the market. If you're at the top, you can control factions, territories, as a true commander of your own religion. If you don't feel like playing, you can simply connect and chat, help newbies, let others know you are bored, or whatever.
