Blackwater Bound

You leave Last Light Depot with an old steam locomotive and a long way to go. Blackwater is 180 kilometres west. Getting there means finding enough food, water, fuel, and spare parts to keep yourself and your train going.
Blackwater Bound is a first-person survival road trip through the western frontier. Travel alone or share the journey with friends in co-op.
Keep the engine running

Open the firebox, load fuel, and watch the pressure rise. Work the valves and brakes from inside the cab, then climb down with a wrench when something needs attention. Parts wear out, water runs low, and the next station might not have everything you need. It pays to keep a few spares aboard.
Make room for one more thing

Couple on wagons and fill them with what you find. Carry tools, stack supplies, bring back a chair you liked, and leave yourself somewhere to sleep. Everything you take has to fit aboard. Extra wagons give you more room, but they also mean more weight to pull and more train to stop.
See what's beyond the tracks

Stop at frontier towns, search abandoned sites, and pick through wrecks for usable parts. Trade for supplies or take on a freight delivery if you have the space. Some finds are worth a walk away from the railway. Others have armed company. Keep a weapon handy, and watch for riders coming up alongside the train.
Bring a crew
Share the work with friends. Someone can mind the engine while the others load supplies or search for parts. Head out together when a stop looks dangerous, then haul what you found back to the wagons. You can also make the whole trip on your own.
Past Blackwater
The railway continues beyond Blackwater. Each new journey changes where you'll find settlements and supplies, and the farther west you travel, the harder it gets to keep going. Reach the town, restock, and see how much farther the old engine will take you.
