Golf: The Journey - Career Sim
Golf: The Journey is a golf career management game. You are not the golfer swinging the club. You are the mind behind every decision they make, from the first Monday qualifier to a Sunday on the world tour.
You do not control the swing itself. You choose the club, the shot shape, and how much risk to take on. Your golfer's skill, form, confidence, fatigue, and the pressure of the moment decide what actually happens to the ball. Wind, rain, the lie, the slope, all of it plays a real part. A safe shot to the middle of the green is always there. So is the risky one at a flag tucked behind a bunker, if you think your golfer can pull it off.
Building a career
You start with nothing but a handicap and a dream. From there you climb. Q-School. Monday qualifiers. Mini-tours where the prize money barely covers your travel. Every tournament you enter and every decision you make changes something real: your world ranking, your season points, your bank balance, your form, and how the media talk about you.
The career is built to be checked on, not just played. Open the game and look at your ranking. Look at your form. Look at how close you are to your next goal, or how far you have fallen since your last slump. That is the point.
Training and preparation
Between tournaments you decide how your golfer spends their time. Set a training plan for the week, choosing where to focus:

Rest when you need to. Push too hard and fatigue and injury risk catch up with you.
Your team around you
You are not doing this alone. Hire a caddie whose advice and course knowledge can shift the numbers in your favor. Build relationships with sponsors who pay for results and reputation. Choose your equipment and kit, and see how it fits your game. Every choice here changes what happens on the course.
Facing the media
Every big week starts with the press wanting a word. Sit down with reporters before a tournament, or skip it, at the cost of your reputation. What you say matters. Answers shape how fans, rivals, and the media see you, and you won't be told in advance what an answer will cost you. You find out the way a real professional would: by living with it afterward.
Rivals and stories that are actually yours
There is no scripted story mode here. Nobody wrote your rivalries in advance. If a player keeps beating you by one shot, season after season, that becomes a real rivalry, and the press will start asking you about it. A slump in your form is a real slump, because your recent rounds were genuinely bad. Every storyline in this game comes out of what actually happened in your career, not a script.
A world built for this game
Every course has its own hole-by-hole artwork, built specifically for this game rather than reused from a generic asset pack. This is an original golf world: original tours, original courses, original rivals, not a recreation of any real-world tour. Over a career you'll get to know these holes properly: where the tee shot needs to go, where the pins get tucked, which ones suit your game and which ones you dread seeing on the schedule every year.
Make the golfer yours
Build your golfer from the ground up, choosing their name, appearance, and playing style. If you would rather see your own face on your golfer, you can use a photo of yourself instead. It stays on your own machine and is never sent anywhere.
Running the business side
A career is more than what happens on the course. Track your finances as prize money, sponsor payouts, and expenses move your bank balance up or down. Plan your season on the calendar, picking which events are worth your time and which weeks you rest. Set goals for yourself and chase them.
Keeping score of your career

Beyond the individual tour, there are team formats where you represent your continent against the rest of the world, playing alongside teammates in match formats that reward a different kind of golf than a normal stroke play event.
